The Organización Nelson Garrido (ONG) is a self-managed cultural center in Caracas, Venezuela where different artistic activities are combined. The space works mainly as a photography school but it also has a audio recording studio and a serigraphy workshop.
They offer their spaces to dance and theatre collectives, they make projections of, mainly, independent films (in their rooftop), and during the whole year there are free workshops and talks related to the artistic and underground scene.
The artists are the ones who take the spaces and make it their own; this is what gives the ONG its characteristic dynamism and diversity.
In a country with such an economical crisis, what they need the most is donations to improve and expand the installations, so if you can contribute something that would help them a lot! But of course not everyone has that chance, so there are also a lot of ways you can help from abroad or locally.
